The Duda eCommerce store now includes the option to offer personalized products to store customers, by adding a customization option that can be set up and appear on the live product page. The first type of product customization we've made available is free text input, perfect for offering textual personalizations like engraving on jewelry, text prints on t-shirts, greeting text for flower deliveries, or letting a customer describe in detail what they’re looking for.

Easy to set up and manage

Getting started with your client’s first product customization is easy. Simply go to a product in the Product Catalog, and scroll down to product customizations:

1. Create a new customization

Hit the Create New Customization  > Text Field and fill out the details, like entering the text field’s label, choosing if this should be a required step for the purchase, and more. Save the product. 

2. Add the Customize Product widget to the product page

Go to the product page in the editor, and add the Customize Product widget. Place it wherever you want on the page, and it will automatically show the text customization you’ve set up in the catalog.

To make it easy for you, we’ve already pre-included the product customization + widget in templates you can use, like the Dog Store, Optic Store, Blank Native Store and the Watch Store (in Editor 2.0).

One screen to manage all the customizations in your catalog

To make it easy for you and your client to manage all the product customizations you’ve created in the Product Catalog, we’ve added a dedicated Product Customization screen you can access through the store operations left panel. There you can view all existing customizations, add new ones, edit individual ones on the spot, and delete customizations.
