Migrating from Wix to Duda: Gaining Scalability and Integration

Helping Wellness and Beauty Businesses Get More Clients

Bewe is a leading business management platform in Latin America and Spain. The SaaS company helps thousands of wellness, beauty, fitness, and health businesses – such as yoga studios, hairdressers, fitness centers, and medical clinics – on their digital transformation journeys.

Founded in 2016 in Spain, Bewe offers a complete digital ecosystem, empowering its clients to acquire, manage, and retain customers online using a single platform. With Bewe, businesses can create their own app and website, accept online bookings and payments, and let their clients see their schedules and personal details.

The company operates in more than 20 countries and has more than 3,000 customers. Yet, it was not always like this.

"Bewe started out just offering management software that helped people manage their own businesses. However, we soon realized that we had a major limitation: we didn't support businesses in creating a marketing strategy to get more clients," says Roland Visbal Piedrahita, Strategic Partnerships Manager at Bewe.

Challenges to scaling with Wix

In early 2022, Bewe decided to complement its business management software offering by providing an integrated web page creation service using an external partner technology.

The first websites began to be built on the Wix platform. "In a short time, we encountered scalability problems. We wanted to grow with quality, and when we reached about 20 sites, we saw that things were becoming too slow," explains Jenifer Reys, Head of the Design Team at Bewe.

"Wix had two major limitations: scalability and the lack of integration possibilities with Bewe's software. With each project, the designers spent a lot of time integrating the pages into our management software. This needed to be done for each site individually, and in addition to the slowness, the solution did not satisfy customers," adds Roland Visbal.

A More Autonomous and Efficient Flow for Customers and Bewe

Bewe began to research other potential partners, and they quickly found that Duda offered exactly what they were looking for. The main benefits of Duda included:

  • Automation via API, avoiding manual tasks that do not add value to the end customer, such as manual creation of the customer's user, assignment of permissions, among others;
  • Use of Duda as a White Label platform, enabling Bewe to offer website creation as their own product, which created additional brand value and differentiation from the competition;
  • Construction of sites with Connected Data, which reduces the amount of time customers spend updating their sites and other systems with the same data, such as opening hours, services offered, address, inventory, etc.
  • Close relationship, with an Account Manager for onboarding, constant training and personalized service for Bewe's team, as well as a Technical Account Manager and 24x7 support with priority service level.

With Duda, Bewe created its own templates and sections with integrated native widgets, and clients could start selecting and editing their own pages, making the flow more autonomous, simple, and fast for both clients and the Bewe team.

"Today we have a scalable solution that helps our clients build and maintain their websites quickly and easily. They are in touch with a single brand throughout the entire process. Finally, we know that we are delivering a quality product and that these clients are satisfied and happy," says Roland.

Redirecting Domains Made Easy and Fast

Bewe was one of Duda's first customers to use the Domain Connect solution, which simplifies existing domain redirection by allowing it to be done within the platform. Thus, if the end customer already has their own domain, Bewe's team no longer needs to access the DNS panel to point their domain.

Domain Connect automatically identifies the domain provider and offers a convenient password reset option, avoiding many email exchanges and wasting time for the customer and the Bewe team.

Often, customers do not remember where they purchased their domain when they created their website for the first time. Others do not remember the email and password used and have difficulty recovering them. Generally, this is the most time-consuming and difficult part of the domain redirection process.

Websites Created in Less Than ¼ of the Time

With Wix, creating a website by the Bewe team took an average of 3 to 4 weeks. Now, a single designer can build 4 to 5 websites per month. As a result of using Duda, Bewe was able to reduce website construction time by over 75%.

How was this possible?

"Thanks to the integration with Duda, now the customer can directly access Bewe's website creation platform and choose a template for their site. Previously, the design team was responsible for this task. Before, we also had to integrate widgets with code and verify that everything was working on each site. Now, it's just a matter of dragging and dropping an icon, which saves us processes and a lot of work," explains Jenifer.

Also, the team efficiency has increased more than 128% thanks to the automations via Duda's API. With Wix, the team needed 25 hours to integrate a website with a Bewe account since all the widgets and calls had to be done manually. With Duda, the time was reduced to 11 hours per site.

Today, Bewe considers Duda a trustworthy partner and ally, contributing significantly to the company's growth.
