New! Instant Website Creation Now Available On Duda

Stephen Alemar • Nov 13, 2018

Great things can happen in an instant. Brilliant ideas can be hatched, championships can be won, and, now, websites can be created. Duda recently finished a huge overhaul of our Content Library, enabling site widgets and elements to be connected to a single source of truth.

This source of truth can be the Content Library itself or any third-party dataset integrated via our API. Either way, you can now use that structured data set to create complete websites for both potential and existing clients in just a few clicks.

A Little Background

Duda’s Content Library has long served as a centralized location within the platform, where a client’s business information could be stored and added to a website as needed. Web pros also historically have had the option to collect client information via a content collection form or import tool. We’ve built upon the success of these features by enabling data in the Content Library to be directly connected to individual site widgets and elements mapped across a website. Once connected, data edited in the library will automatically sync with corresponding locations on the website.

Additionally, the Content Library can be integrated with an outside, third-party dataset. This third-party data set can be a CRM, database, listing service, etc. Once connected via the API, content in your third-party source of truth will be pushed into the Content Library and distributed to mapped widgets and elements on a site.

This is what makes Instant Websites possible.

How to Create Websites in an Instant

Since either the Content Library or a third-party dataset can serve as your source of truth, there are a variety of use cases in which Instant Websites can be deployed to improve acquisition, reduce churn and create upsell opportunities (more on that later). However, all of them follow the same basic process.

The first step in enabling Instant Website creation in Duda’s platform is to select, or create from scratch, website templates and map their widgets and elements to the Content Library. This forms the ‘connection’ in connected data.

Once this is completed, the Content Library will be set up as a potential source of truth for collecting customer information and centralizing it in one location. For teams building websites for clients, a white label Content Collection form can be sent out to customers. All they need to do is simply fill out and their data will automatically be pushed into the library.

For Duda customers with API access, there is an additional option to connect a third-party source of truth. As pointed out above, this can be any kind of structured data set from a spreadsheet to a CRM. This third-party source of truth is then connected to the content library, which, in turn, syncs with the mapped widgets and elements across the website.

Once all of the above steps are completed, a few clicks of a button and your team will be able to build websites instantly, based on structured data such as business name, address, phone number, images and more.

Instant Websites can even be implemented in a DIY flow. Our API allows you to incorporate any content collection form into your workflow, so customers’ structured data can be used to create websites without them ever having to design anything. All Duda websites can then be easily edited as necessary.

Use Cases for Your Agency

Now that we’ve covered the process of creating instant websites, it’s time to talk about how it can be applied to benefit your agency.

New Customer Acquisition

Instant Websites can improve client acquisition for your business in a number of different ways, but it’s particularly helpful for creating basic, completed websites your customers will want to buy right away. All it takes is a member of your sales team to plug a few pieces of key business information (business name, phone number, address, and logo) into a content collection form, create a site and send it to the potential customer with a quote. If your team already has a structured dataset with this information, you can skip the manual data entry and create large batches of potential customer websites in just a few clicks.

Churn Reduction

Connectable data and instant website creation can improve churn rates for both do-it-yourself (DIY, your clients build the websites) and do-it-for-me (DIFM, you build the websites for your clients) Duda partners.

For DIY partners, Instant Websites ensure your customers have a fully functional, published site – the moment they sign up for your service. Your team simply needs to add Duda’s content collection form to your customer conversion funnel, which will push their information into a brand new website. The created site can then be edited by your customer using the full capabilities of Duda’s site builder.

For DIFM Duda partners, the ability to create websites instantly means you’ll be able to offer regular redesigns without putting any additional strain on your team’s resources. All your designers need to do is quickly switch out site templates and/or sections and all of a customer’s existing data that is connected to the Content Library will be transferred over to the new design. This kills two birds with one stone — your team can say goodbye to manually re-creating content, and customers with updated sleek websites are much less likely to churn.

Websites as Upsells

Instant Websites make it easier than ever to bundle websites with other products and services you offer as well as upsell sites to current customers. With our flexible API, you can connect any structured data set of existing customer information to the Content Library and create sites for those accounts in just a few clicks. Your customers will love their new websites, and you’ll love your new source of revenue.

For more information, you can find API integration instructions and use cases in Duda’s Development Portal.
