Setting Up Webmaster Tools on Your Duda Site

When taking a site live for the first time it’s important to think about how to improve SEO, so one of the first actions you take should be submitting the site to Google Webmaster Tools. In my experience, this is often an overlooked step by many. The reason this is so important is that Google only has two ways of finding your site online: (1) By having another site link to you or (2) submitting it to Google directly. This actively helps improve SEO on this site.

Since the first option is not always viable or immediately achievable, it’s important that you take the second route. Here’s how you can set up Google Webmaster Tools on a newly created Duda site:

Log In to Google Webmaster Tools here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/home. You will need to have a Google Account to do this.

After successfully logging in, you will want to add a new site. If it’s your first time doing this, it should look something like this:
Make sure you put in the URL of the site you’re setting up.

Copy the meta tag code under the HTML tag section — you will be embedding this into your DudaOne website builder.

Next you’ll want to open a new tab / browser window and head over to Duda. Find the DudaOne site you’re setting up and open the site editor.
Navigate to the Site Settings → Header HTML section and paste the meta tag code you copied earlier into the header HTML box. It should look like this:
Click save and then republish the DudaOne site. Republishing the site makes sure that the meta code you just added is embedded live on the site. Don’t worry — it won’t display on the site at all.

Finally, head back to Google Webmaster Tools and click verify. If everything was done correctly, Google should quickly verify the site.

The next step is to wait. Google does not index the site immediately — so you will not see any results for about 24 hours. Google Webmaster Tools is an essential tool to any website manager, it gives you some handy options to make sure your site is showing up online and in good working order.

For more ways to improve SEO for your site, you should also submit your sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools and also submit your site to Bing Webmaster Tools as well.
